My journey led me into the allopathic world of medicine. It never seemed to fit just right for me. I am not saying that medicine doesn't have it's place, I just felt in my core that there was something else, something better. On a whim, I applied for Chiropractic college. I didn't really know what Chiropractors did except for taking care of you after car accidents, but I felt stuck in my life and kept being directed towards Chiropractic college. Imagine my surprise when I was accepted the next day!
When I first began Chiropractic college, I was still in the allopathic mindset, but searching for something more. I truly found it here and through my own personal healing, I no longer have asthma, allergies nor do I take medications. I studied a few different energy techniques while is school and B.E.S.T. was the one that felt best for me.
Dr. Oz is quoted as saying, ""We're beginning now to understand things that we know in our hearts are true but we could never measure. As we get better at understanding how little we know about the body, we begin to realize that the next big frontier in medicine is energy medicine. It's not the mechanistic part of the joints moving. It's not the chemistry of our body. It's understanding for the first time how energy influences how we feel."
He is absolutely correct, and those of us who study and practice energy medicine can take this conversation much deeper and help others connect to their own healing energy as well as show you how the physical body works with the energetic bodies. In most simple terms; it does because they are the same - you are an electromagnetic energy field.
With B.E.S.T. I have had the pleasure of seeing some amazing shifts in others and the conversations afterwards are just as amazing. B.E.S.T. is a hands-on technique, however, it is not physically adjusting the body like Chiropractic adjustments. I begin with connecting to the patients energy and being focused on them. I then go where the energy leads me, balancing areas of the body simply by gently laying my hands on them and waiting for the energy to harmonize. I love it when they say they can feel things moving while I am doing this. I feel it, and I know it is balancing, even if they can't feel it, but it is great when the patient becomes aware of the sensations in their own body. Sessions are very peaceful and can take up to 45 minutes, but it is some of the BEST "healing" you will receive.
When someone complains of knee pain or low back pain, we look at all areas of health; physical, nutritional, energetic. The physical manifestation of knee pain, may simply be a block in flow of your energy. This is the same as "chi" in eastern medicine. As a matter of fact, acupuncture works in a similar manner, except it uses needles. When we can bring attention to the knee pain with the intention of releasing it, letting it go and connecting to the energy in that area of the body and what it is telling us, then true healing can occur. It's you connecting with yourself, paying attention and healing yourself from the inside out. I gratefully get to be the facilitator in this process.
There are so many things I would like to share with you. I will continue to post more about this topic, but if you are interested in learning more or engaging in this type of conversation, please come to our Evenings with the Doc's. You can find them on the Events and Talks page, or sign up for our monthly newsletter and you will also receive upcoming events newsletters. www.chiropractic-now.com
